Due to the current circumstances brought about by Covid-19 our club has had to postpone arrangements for the 2020 AGM, primarily taking on board the advice provided by Bowls SA that in part states as follows;
“Bowling venues can be used subject to strict social distancing and hygiene practices being implemented with the total number of people participating in all activity at the venue not exceeding 10 and the density requirement of one person per four square metres must be adhered to at any one given time.”
Because the numbers that attend our AGMs ordinarily far exceeds 10, the constraints placed on large gatherings and the lack of technical resources available to our club to hold the AGM by videotelephony, an online chat service or any other teleconferencing means, the Board of Management has elected to cancel the 2020 AGM as a precaution against the Coronavirus, rather than risk any adverse happenings by holding it.
Consequently, due to these current circumstances of uncertainty brought about by Covid-19, the two positions on The Board, namely that of President and Treasurer, will now not become vacant until a later date. The current occupants of those positions will continue in their roles until the next AGM which is anticipated to be held on a date to be advised prior to the end of August 2020.
